ABOUT

This interactive data visualization captures a day in my life by celebrating the small, meaningful moments I share with the people around me. Built as a fully functioning website in Figma, the project features custom UI, playful animations, and hundreds of dynamic interactions gathered over a month.

As an extrovert, I’ve always found energy and joy in social connection—but I realized I often took these daily moments for granted. This project became a personal tribute to those interactions, designed to spark reflection and sentimentality for viewers as well. Who are the people in your life that spark joy?

THE SPARK

Even on difficult days, I noticed that after nearly every interaction, I felt a subtle emotional lift. I began logging these moments, noting who I interacted with, the emotion I felt afterward, and whether I initiated the exchange. Over the course of a month, I tracked 344 interactions across 42 individuals, and categorized each by emotional impact.

This project isn’t just about data—it’s about emotional resonance, memory, and appreciation. I wanted to transform a sea of small talk, texts, and check-ins into something memorable and meaningful.

PROCESS

Visually, I took inspiration from early 90s arcade games—especially Super Mario—for their charming, nostalgic feel. That aesthetic felt right for a project rooted in sentimentality and play. I designed every piece of the UI from scratch, developed the visual language and animation system, and created 42 custom characters modeled after people in my life.

Mapping 344 unique interactions, I built out an entire ecosystem of animated moments, emotional categorizations, and data-driven visuals. From the tiniest pixel detail to the user journey, this was a labor of love—and one of the most ambitious and personal projects I’ve ever completed.
